Carrott Cake and Deviled Eggs

One of Gegory's caregivers, Jeremiah, made deviled eggs for everyone.  And, Tiffany made carrot cake.  Everyone had a great time.  The new CEO of the ARK even showed up for all the fun .

Egg Dying

Everyone enjoyed dying eggs.  Gregory's friend, Rich, made a beautiful green egg.

Gregory and Garret Dye Eggs

One of Gregory's favorite caregivers, Garrett, helps Gregory dye his Easter egg.  Gregory was pretty happy with the beautiful egg that he and Garrett made for Easter.

APRIL FOOL!!!

This is spring in Laramie at 7,200 on April 1, 2010!  Unfortunately, it was not an April Fool's Joke.  We had just gotten rid of most of the snow that had been around since October.  I realize that we need the snow so that we can have water later in the summer.  But, I really wish this would have been rain.  At least it would have felt like spring.  We got five inches of snow today!  More tomorrow and next week.  Happy Easter!!  The Easter Bunny will need to wear ear muffs, for sure!

Visiting with the Grandbunnies on Works Street

Last weekend, we went to see the grandbunnies that live in Wyoming.  We first went to Sheridan  to see Meg, Ella and Jack's new home and to help Missi and David get ready to move in. We got to go to Meg's and Ella's schools, meet their teachers, and some of the classmates.  We learned that the girls are very good students, have great teachers, wonderful friends and love to learn.  We were so happy to be invited to go to school with them!!  And we are very proud of them.
Next week, their family will move to a different home.  They will have precious memories of the house on Works Street and we will, too.

Grandpa Bunny with Beer

Meg made this wonderful bunny hat in school on Friday.  Grandpa looks dapper in it.

Jack Plays with Playdough

We really enjoyed watching Jack walk and try to run. On Saturday morning, he played with Playdough while his sisters painted. And he was so engrossed with his project for such a long time!  Do you think there's another "lefty" in the making here?

Meg, Ella and Jack Teach Us to Play Wii

Meg, Ella and Jack taught us about Wii.  Grandpa and I had never seen this wonderful technology.  It was fun watching Meg and Ella downhill ski, race, bowl, play golf, baseball, exercise and create Grandpa Wayne and me in the Wii world!

I don't think we'll have to worry about Meg taking care of herself around the boys.  She got to a very high level of accomplishment in the Wii Boxing!!

Grandpa Wayne tried the Wii Baseball.  I think he had lots of fun.  Maybe we need to get one of these for retirement fun!

Meg and Ella Entertain Us

Meg and Ella invited us to a tea party and then entertained us with singing and dancing. They dressed up so beautifully.  Meg played the keyboard for us and Ella did a beautiful dance!  We didn't realize that Meg was taking keyboarding at school.  She did a wonderful job!

The House on Linden Street

We took a walk to the new house on Linden.  Grandpa Wayne and Dad had painted Jack's room on Friday and Saturday.  Grandpa Wayne and Jack in his room.  It is ready for him to move into.
Missi spent Saturday getting Meg's room already for her.  Ella's room was ready for her, too.

Missi and David spent the whole day Saturday cleaning and painting so that everthing would be ready this week.  Ella is standing on the ladder inspecting the painting job.

Fun With the Sheridan Grandkids at Kendrick Park

Kendrick Park is just a half a block from the new house.  It was a nice day Saturday afternoon, so after we visited the house and looked at the newly painted bedrooms, we went off to the park. Brook even came with us to enjoy the fresh air.  Jack has no fear. He climbed up the big slide, but he decided he didn't want to go  down.  Grandpa had a nice time swinging Jack.

Tim's Neat Game--ELEFUN

Tim got a great game for his birthday: ELEFUN.  It's battery operated and when you turn it on, a fan in the elephant transports butterflies through its snout.  Then the kiddos have to catch them in a net.  You can see that Tim and Savannah are having lots of fun.  And, if I can get my slow computer to dowload some videos, I'll post them later of Tim and Savannah's fun with ELEFUN!

The Girls Enjoyed their Easter Gifts

The Casper girls got candy and nail polish.  Tim got some candy, too
We told Sarah that she needs to eat her carrots (her Reeses Pieces carrots).

Celebrating Tim's Birthday in March

On the way home, we stopped by to see all the kiddos in Casper and give Tim his birthday present:  a Chicago Bears fleece blanket.  When I saw the Bears fleece at Hobby Lobby in January when we were in Illinois, I knew I had to make Tim a special blanket.

Grandchildren Come to Visit

Before Christmas, the Casper grandkiddos and their Mom and Dad and our granddog, Booke, were able to spend a little time together between snowstorms.
Speaking of snowstorms, Kim and the girls took refuge at our house in Janaury after a terrible ice storm and then a snowstorm knock out power all over their county.  It was lucky for us because we got to spend time with the granddaughters from South Dakota.  We had lots of fun!

Family Resemblance

When Jack visited us after Christmas, Mom Missi saw quite a resemblance to Grandpa Wayne in his photo when he was about two years old.

A Visit from the Sheridan grandkiddos

It's always wonderful when we can spend time with our grandkids. This photo was taken when Ella, Jack and Meg (along with their parents Missi and Dave) visited us after Christmas. Aren't they cute??

Gregory Plays Nintendo

When Gregory was about 12, in 1985, we got him a Nintendo.  He always loved the Mike Tyson Puch-Out game and he still does. He can play the game all by himself and he's very good at it, too.  This is the same Nintendo that he got way back then.

Gregory's very proud to be able to do this and it's one of his favorite pasttimes.

New Curtains for Gregory's Room

For Christmas, Gregory got new Cubs curtains.  For his birthday, Grandma Wanda gave him a new Cubs sweatshirt.  He sure loves his room!

Party at Gregory's House

Gregory had a nice party at his house on January 16.  Lots of his freinds from other groups homes and caregivers came to celebrate with him.  Here,  he is opening one of our gifts to him, a Bears commorative shirt!

Gregory's always happy when his girlfriend, Debbie, is around.  Liz is in the background.
Gregory's friend, Ronnie, shares the same birthday.  It was quite a weekend for both of them.  His friend, Bob, is in the background.
Gregory and Mom.  I don't know where 37years has gone!  Gregory has a wonderful life here in Laramie at his home.

Gregory's Birthday

Gregory turned 37 in January and had a nice celebration at his house with freinds.  Richard Mason, who was Gregory's room mate when they went into their first group home 15 years ago always comes to Gregory's parties.

Wayne Retires

After 27 years at the University of Wyoming and a total of 37 1/2 years as a federal employee, Wayne officially retired on January 1, 2010. Before he left, his department had a little gathering for him at the end of the hallway.

Colleagues Gather for a Farewell to Wayne

Many co-workers, students and friends came down to the end of the hall on the last day of the Fall semester to congratulate Wayne on his retirement.
